Looking Northward

Cold Stream

An icy stream in the backwoods of New Hampshire. This one feeds into a beaver pond. As a kid, I played in many small streams around these woods, and loved hopping the rocks and banks while trying not to fall in. Falling in would've been especially bad on this day, as it was around 15F!

Cows and Glaciers

I happened upon this cute cow in the alps in the summer of 2009. Called 'Grauvieh' in german, which simply means 'gray cattle', these creatures can be found all over the alps. I've crossed paths with them them in the oddest an most unlikely places! The glacier tongue in the background is snaking down from the kaunertal glacier.

Another picture from my alps trip in 2009. The mountain towering over the water is 'Weißseespitze' and is 3,526m tall (11,568 feet). The lake is manmade and is called 'Gepatschstausee'.
